Yume no Naka e – A great mom & pop spaghetti restaurant

Ever have one of those days when you wake up a little late, there’s nothing at home to eat and you’re craving some carbs? I have a lot of those and to satisfy my cravings I usually go to Yume no naka e (Into The Dream)

Yume no naka e is located next to the Joyland bowling alley and across from the Ira de building. Walk up the stairs to the second floor and find yourself in a quaint family-owned restaurant that specializes in spaghetti pasta dishes.

All orders are taken and prepared by a married couple who are also the owners of Yume no naka e. The service is great, the portions are huge value for money and the food always tastes good. You can even get a half size for just 320 yen! The normal size is around 500 to 800 yen depending on what pasta you get, but my female friend ordered the normal size and could only eat a third of the portion she was given so she took the rest home to eat for lunch the next day!

You’ll be spoiled by a wide range of flavours from cream sauces to vegetable and meat sauces.

They also serve Japanese-style noodle dishes.

And if you’re still hungry after the main course or feel like having something besides pasta, they’ve got you covered there too with their side dishes/appetizers and desserts.

Usually they are not too busy but on weekends there is always a lunch time crowd and seating can be hard to find. I personally have never had to make a reservation and I don’t believe that option is available.

My go-to pasta is the omlette chicken spaghetti in the 1.5 sized option as seen below.

Most meals come with a side salad and a jello dessert.

This particular meal will run you about 1200 yen but many of the choices at regular size come under 1000 yen.

As long as you get the tomato-based pastas and ask for no cheese or egg, your meal can potentially be dairy-free. Please confirm this with the staff though, especially if you have an allergy.

Please visit this restaurant to get your spaghetti fix and tell them WH sent you.
