Our interview with Phil

Andy: “So what made you decide you wanted to start hosting baking classes in the Numazu area?”

Phil: “About a year ago, I ran a bakery in Kyoto for a day with a friend of mine, and we literally sold out all of the things we made. I really enjoyed seeing people that were happy with the finished product, and it’s then when I really dug this line of work.”

Andy: “What is your core and high hopes for Wandie Bakery?”

Phil: “People are generally happy when they can feed their mind, body, and soul, so I want to bring something positive for the community. If I can make people happy, I want to make that happen. It’s a fundamental goal for Wandie Bakery that I want to share”

Andy: “What are your future goals for Wandie?”

Phil: “I’d like to continue using Cafe&Space Hotori twice a month and eventually, use other spaces as well. I have an idea in mind where students can partake in a 5 to 10 week program where they can learn how to bake bread, cakes, pies, pastries, and other foreign foods. Hopefully I can have a building where there would be a cafe operating downstairs and a second floor which can be used for a variety of classes.”

Andy: “Awesome! Thanks for sharing Wandie Bakery with us!”

Phil: “Yeah, all good mate! Come swing over!”
